Prairie du Chien schools get temporary barriers due to school threat

Barricades were placed at public school entrances in Prairie du Chien over the weekend, and police increased their presence near school buildings, following a threat received last week by the school district.
The district superintendent’s office sent a message to parents on Friday about a verbal threat.
The person accused of making the threat was found at school grounds and arrested.
It’s not known when the suspect might appear in Crawford County court to face charges.
Barriers were placed at doorways of schools to be kept in place through Sunday night. The affected buildings included Prairie du Chien High School, the Bluffview Intermediate School, and the B.A. Kennedy elementary school.
