Police identify Bangor man killed in rollover accident, and Sparta driver who’s facing charges

A driver from Sparta has now appeared in court, facing a homicide charge after a deadly rollover crash on I-90 near Portage, which killed a passenger from Bangor.

Twenty-two-year-old Jeremiah Johnson is charged in Columbia County with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Johnson reportedly was driving at high speed to avoid police on February 1st, when his vehicle rolled over while exiting the interstate in an attempt to get to Highway 33.

Passenger Jaden Fargen, age 24 of Bangor, was killed after being thrown from the vehicle during the crash. Johnson and two others were injured.

Johnson is charged with homicide by intoxicated driving, and is jailed in Columbia County, with bond set at $100,000 cash. He’s been ordered not to contact Fargen’s family, and not to consume alcohol, or to go anywhere that alcohol is sold. Johnson is scheduled back in court on March 25th.
