Judge finds probable cause to charge Tomah man with fatal intoxicated-driving crash in Monroe County

A Monroe County driver charged with a fatal highway crash last year has waived an evidence hearing, and could enter a not guilty plea when he returns to court in March.
Thirty-nine-year-old Kristoffer Ray Cattle of Tomah faces nine criminal counts, including homicide by intoxicated driving, for the November death of a second driver, David Wilcox. Authorities say Cattle was under the influence of drugs when he drove across the center line on County Highway A in Monroe County, and struck Wilcox’s vehicle head-on. A passenger riding with Wilcox was hurt.
Judge Mark Goodman found probable cause to try Cattle, after the defendant waived a preliminary hearing on Monday. Cattle is expected to plead not guilty at his next court hearing in Sparta, scheduled for March 10th.
