Boy pronounced dead after being found in La Crescent residence

La Crescent’s police said Friday a boy was found dead at a residence.

The cause of death has not been determined. The boy’s age was not disclosed. Investigators said there are no suspicious circumstances.

Officers responded Thursday afternoon to a call that the boy was discovered unconscious.

First responders used CPR and a defibrillator to try to revive the male, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

La Crescent police will continue to investigate. The Minnesota regional medical examiner’s office is awaiting autopsy results.

Both are working with the La Crescent-Hokah schools to provide support to students and staff.
