La Crosse homicide suspect arrested, after trying to run from police for north side shooting

A deadly shooting on the north side of La Crosse this weekend has led to an arrest of a 28-year-old.

Cody Alland is accused of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 42-year-old Justin Betz, who was shot after bar time Sunday in the 1800 block of George Street.
Betz was shot once, and life-saving measures were taken to get him to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
When police tried to arrest Alland near a residence on the north side early Sunday, he allegedly took off in a vehicle but was pulled over shortly after and arrested.
Alland is in jail without bond. Because courts were closed Monday for the Martin Luther King holiday, Alland is expected to have a court hearing on Tuesday.
Police are continuing to ask for the public’s help in the case by calling 608-782-7575. Tips can anonymously be provided to the La Crosse Area Crime Stoppers at 608-784-8477 or online at www.lacrossecrimestoppers.com.

Here is the question; Is Mr Alland an illeagl alien? Is LaCrosse city or county a sanctuary area? If so,who, declared it that and by what authority? Are local police abiding with federal law and ICE, by reporting this incident? Hopefully this is not the situation, but we have very liberal population, a democratic county board, city council and sheriff and I don’t think these questions have been asked. If you are in dreamland and think that this can’t possibly happen here, you are in the dark!
