Many New Year’s resolutions this year will center around health — taking better care of ourselves in the exercise and diet areas but also getting rid of some bad habits. We already know what alcohol and smoking do to our bodies. A new report, though, says that sugary drinks might also be included on a list of things that contribute to mortality. 

Diabetes and cardiovascular disease have been linked to having too many carbonated beverages. 

There are 330,000 annual deaths attributed to people contracting diabetes and/or developing a cardiovascular disease such as coronary artery disease, heart attack or heart failure, stroke, high blood pressure, congenital heart defects, etc. 

And the category most at risk right now is younger male adults with higher education who live in urban areas.  And by the way, low calorie sweeteners are not better to drink. 

Choose wisely as the saying goes.

I've worked in radio all over the south, and so far am loving the Midwest! Such a beautiful part of the country, but we'll see how I feel after my first Minnesota winter.     Low calorie sweeteners are 100% better to drink than full sugar versions. There is 0 evidence from any studies proving low calorie sweeteners are bad for you…
    In my opinion, the real reason people are so unhealthy is a lack of exercise combined with the industrial food complex stripping all the nutrition out of our food.
