As I See It

Christmas is a special time and as our family situation changes, so do the memories and challenges and obligations. Where once we might have had to dress up and attend parties for our parents’ sake, now we may be the ones hosting those parties.

Besides giving and receiving presents, ‘Tis the season of giving — to charities. Whether it’s the Red Kettle campaign with the Salvation Army or another worthy organization, these groups need financial donations to continue their work helping those less fortunate.

And don’t you also notice that we are more polite during this time of the year?

Opening doors, letting someone else go in front of us in line, saying please and thank you more often are part of the season.

And maybe a reminder to us all that being polite and patient should extend past Dec. 25.
