A police chase through southern Minnesota on Monday leads to possible charges for a La Crescent driver.

Matthew Davis is accused of fleeing police in a stolen pickup truck. Davis reportedly was pursued by officers from La Crescent as he drove west in the wrong lane of I-90.

Winona County Sheriff Ron Ganrude says the driver got to Eyota, and then turned around and headed back the way he came. After Davis turned around, police used spike strips to slow down the vehicle. Davis tried to keep going, but he was forced to leave the truck when police put a pepperball inside the vehicle.

Davis is expected to appear in Houston County court on charges resulting from the pursuit.
