Suspect in West Salem drug death, also wanted in Arkansas — remains in La Crosse jail for now



A reckless homicide suspect remains in the La Crosse County jail, as he waits to be taken to his home state of Arkansas for a different court case.


A warrant was issued by an Arkansas county for 25-year-old Lathan Foster, who’s suspected in that state of possessing drugs including meth.

An $11,000 cash bond has been set in La Crosse for Foster, who is awaiting trial here for providing drugs to a friend, Jeremy Pittman of West Salem, who died from an overdose more than two years ago.

Benton County, Ark., court officials recently issued the arrest warrant for Foster, who was brought back to La Crosse from Arkansas back in April to be tried for Pittman’s death.

Foster has another court hearing here in August, while his La Crosse trial is scheduled for the last week of October.
