Teen, who was wounded in La Crosse shootout, gets three years in prison for attacking alleged shooter

Just over a year ago, two teenagers were shot outside a 7th Street apartment complex on La Crosse’s southside.

Greengrass

A 15-year-old died and his friend was wounded.

That wounded friend, Jackson Greengrass, now 18, was ordered Monday to spend three years in prison for allegedly trying to hurt the man accused of shooting him.

Greengrass reached a plea agreement in La Crosse County court for reportedly attempting to shoot Sage Hicke.

Greengrass will be on supervision for five years after his prison term, followed by probation.

He did receive nearly a full year of credit for time spent in jail.

Hicke is waiting to be tried this summer for reportedly shooting both Greengrass and Storm Vondrashek, the 15-year-old that died in the confrontation.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
