The election was nearly three years ago. Yet some still continue to doubt the outcome of the Presidential race in Wisconsin and elsewhere. Since the voting was finished, there have been lawsuits, numerous investigations and multiple court rulings, which all found the same thing. There was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election, and Joe Biden won Wisconsin by about 25,000 votes. Yet the election deniers continue to insist only something nefarious could have given Biden the Wisconsin win. That is why it is good to see a new group is forming to fight the disinformation. This is not some liberal attempt at brainwashing. In fact, it is a bipartisan commission called Keep Our Republic that works in battleground states Pennsylvania and Michigan, and now has a Wisconsin chapter. The group includes former Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson, as well as former Wisconsin Assembly Speaker and Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch of West Salem. The group will work to ensure election integrity, combatting misinformation and educating voters about the state’s voting laws. Three years’ worth of looking for fraud without finding any should be enough to convince people the election was fair and the outcome no longer in question. But the denials continue, and it is good to see the two parties working together to combat what some continue to believe.
