Aquinas guard Macy Donarski named first team all-state; six local players named honorable mention

Aquinas High School girls basketball standout Macy Donarski was named first team all-state by The Associated Press on Thrusday.

Donarski, who is committed to play at the University of Montana, helped lead the Blugolds to a 28-2 record and a runner-up finish in the Division 4 state tournament.

She averaged 20.1 points, 8.4 assists and 5.3 steals. She was also the Mississippi Valley Conference player of the year.

Last weekend, Macy’s sister Lexi Donarski made news by entering the transfer portal after starting every game her first three seasons for Iowa State.

Aquinas teammate, freshman Sammy Davis, was among seven local players to earn AP honorable mention, which also Central senior Brittney Mislivecek included Blair-Taylor seniors Lindsay Steien and Abby Thompson, West Salem sophomore Megan Johnson and Arcadia senior guard Breah Golden.

Germantown senior Kamorea Arnold was unanimously voted the player of the year. She averaged 23.3 points. Green Bay Notre Dame coach Sara Rohde, who led her team to a third consecutive state title, was voted coach of the year.
