Multiple drug charges filed after 2 La Crosse men saved from overdoses

An emergency call to revive two La Crosse men from drug overdoses led to several criminal charges, including drug trafficking.

La Crosse police responded Sunday to a medical call at a house on Ferry Street, where the two young men were unconscious. They had to be revived with the antidote Narcan.

After they were taken to a hospital for treatment, the house was searched. Police found many drugs including heroin, cocaine and marijuana. They also discovered a 45-caliber handgun and a safe containing $15,000 in cash.

One of the two men revived, 19-year-old Simon Kleinertz, faces eight drug-related crimes in La Crosse County court.
