Sen. Johnson says it’s “crucial” to elect Kelly to Wisconsin Supreme Court

In the last two decades, most races for the Wisconsin Supreme Court have come down to a fight between a liberal and a conservative.

It’s the same situation this year, and there should be no surprise over which candidate Republican Senator Ron Johnson supports.  Johnson is backing former Justice Dan Kelly.

“If he loses, then the court flips, we have a bunch of judicial activists there, and they would have no problem overturning…the conservative legislative gains we’ve had over the last few decades,” Johnson says, “and Wisconsin would be a very different place in a very short period of time.”

Johnson urges conservatives to get others like them to the polls in April, to vote for Kelly over opponent Janet Protasiewicz.

“When you come from the left,” the senator tells WIZM’s La Crosse Talk, “and you’re a judge, you’re really not a judge. You’re an activist legislator from the bench.”

Johnson says Democrats try to use the courts to put their ideas into law, in case they can’t win elections.

Not counting the open seat on the April ballot, being vacated by retiring Justice Patience Roggensack, there’s a 3-3 split on the court between the left and right.

Kelly was appointed to the Supreme Court by former Gov. Scott Walker in 2016, and lost his bid for a full 10-year term in the 2020 election.

Sen. Johnson doesn’t support his constituents in Wisconsin. His voting record supports it. He certainly isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed!! He’s a right wing tRump supporter !
