Jackson County drug suspect to be scheduled for hearing

An evidence hearing will be scheduled in Jackson County for a 39-year-old driver who allegedly tossed meth out of a car window while being chased by area police in January.

Vong Vang is being held in jail on drug charges related to that pursuit by sheriff’s officers. Court records list Vang as living in North Carolina, but he stayed in the La Crosse area for awhile.

In 2015, Vang was among more than a dozen people tried for taking part in a regional meth ring between La Crosse and Minneapolis.

After a two-county pursuit last month, Vang was pulled over and officers found meth on his clothes and inside his car.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
