A week-long murder trial is planned in La Crosse this summer for 18-year-old Sage Hicke.

He’s accused of shooting two other young men outside an apartment building near Gundersen last year.

A 15-year-old boy, Storm Vondrashek, was killed, and a second teen, Jackson Greengrass, was wounded. Greengrass is facing trial for reportedly trying to shoot Hicke.

Hicke’s jury trial is scheduled to start Monday, July 31st, and could last through that Friday.  He claims he shot the victims in self-defense, but Judge Elliott Levine disputes the argument that Hicke would have been killed himself if he hadn’t fired his gun.

The next pre-trial hearing is planned for April.
