A three-game losing streak has dropped the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team out of the Top 25 for the first time in a month, as they get set Tuesday to host Penn State.

Wisconsin (11-5) first cracked the Top 25 on Dec. 12, after a four-game win streak that included beating No. 13 Maryland.

One could excuse the Badgers for losing their last three games, being without leading scorer Tyler Wahl, and its opponents in those games having a combined 36-17 record — Illinois (13-5), Michigan State (12-6), Indiana (11-6).

During the losing streak, La Crosse native Jordan Davis has struggled, going scoreless the last two games and having five points in the other.

Davis, who is averaging 24.3 minutes per game, played just 14 minutes in the in the 18-point loss to the Hoosiers and 22 minutes against the Spartans. He’s only played under 20 minutes two other times this season.

Penn State (12-5) comes in having lost two of three, including to then-No. 1-ranked Purdue 76-63. The Boilermakers are now ranked third.
