La Crosse native Jordan Davis had seven points and tied a career-high eight rebounds in helping the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team hold off Minnesota 63-60 at the Kohl Center on Tuesday.

Davis was 3-for-5 from the field and his eight rebounds led the 14th-ranked Badgers (11-2), who have won six straight.

Wisconsin led by as many as 15, after a Steven Crowl dunk with 15:26 remaining in the game, but the Gophers (6-7) fought back with an 11-0 run to pull within 54-53 with 8:34 remaining.

Davis answered the run with a 3-pointer in which he may or may not have called bank.

Minnesota pulled within 63-60 with 27 seconds remaining before the teams finished with a UW turnover, a Minnesota turnover, a Crowl missed bonus free throw and a Minnesota turnover.

Davis also had eight rebounds on Nov. 23 in a 43-42 win over Dayton.

The 6-foot-4 junior, who has started every game, is averaging 7.2 points, on 42.2 percent shooting, and 4.2 rebounds over 25.2 minutes a game this season.
