Weekend fire at Holmen residence results in one firefighter injury

One firefighter was injured while fighting a weekend fire in the Holmen area.

A house on Valley Place received heavy fire, smoke and water damage on Saturday afternoon, after heavy fire was discovered in the rear of the house.

There were 11 fire trucks on the scene, including units from La Crosse, Trempealeau, Onalaska and Farmington.

The occupants of the house got out safely. The cause has not been determined.

The La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department and Tri-State Ambulance also assisted at the fire location.
