Registration for 2023 La Crosse Marathon opens Thursday

Registration for the 2023 La Crosse Marathon opens Thursday.

The marathon, run from Sparta to La Crosse and ending in Riverside Park, was brought back last year after it was tried for a short time several years ago.

Organizers have set the race date for May 6. See the course here. Registration (click here) begins Thursday.

Pricing for 2023:
Dec. 1 – Jan. 31: $70.00
Feb. 1 – March 31: $85.00
April 1 – April 30: $100.00
May 1 – May 5: $115.00

The event also will feature a 13-mile half-marathon from West Salem to La Crosse and a 5K run starting and ending at Riverside Park.

In recent years, La Crosse has mainly hosted the Grandad Half Marathon as part of the Fitness Festival.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
