Students attending UW-Platteville won’t be earning degrees at Richland Center, after this school year.

The University of Wisconsin System said Tuesday it plans to transfer its degree programs now at the Richland campus to UW-Platteville next fall. The campus in Richland County merged with UW-Platteville in 2018.

UW System President Jay Rothman sent a letter to UW-Platteville’s interim Chancellor Tammy Evetovich, saying only 60 students are pursuing degrees at the Richland campus and the time has come to move all those degree programs to the main Platteville campus.

Rothman ordered Evetovich to develop a plan for continuing to use the Richland campus, possibly for teaching courses for adults. The Richland campus opened as a branch of UW-Platteville in 1967.
