As I See It

Finally, it’s almost over

It’s finally almost over. Today is election day, and in a matter of hours the polls will be closed, the ballots will be counted, and winners will be declared. It is the end of an election season that seems to get longer and longer, more and more expensive and nastier than ever. I’ve heard more lies and distortions without much in the way of substance. The political attacks have become more vile. I guess this is the way elections work in this country. The candidates make all kinds of false promises they couldn’t possibly deliver and speak in sound bites without getting to the meat of things.  We listen for months while they spew messages of hate and tell us only they can fix our problems. Even today, the political ads will continue, right up until the polls close. But when they do, we can be assured that today’s election will be administered properly, without bias, and that we can trust the outcome of that election. If it is close, there will be recounts. If there is any suspicion of fraud, it will be investigated. That is how our elections work. There are plenty of precautions in place to ensure your vote counts. So if you haven’t yet cast your ballot, there is still time. Make your voice heard. It is what makes our democracy work.

Every vote should be backed up with a paper ballot. Voter ID. Remote drop boxes illegal. Absentee ballots by request and backed by proper identification. Restore voter trust.

Since the Superintendent of Schools thinks he’s going to merge the two schools anyway ( he said this) the 2 schools need to sue this arrogant man. Or maybe the parents of current students should sue him or get rid of him, he has way too much power.
