La Crosse’s school board is scheduled to vote Monday night on a spending plan and tax levy for the coming school year.

Actually, two proposals could get votes from the board.

One would set the levy based on whether a $194.7 million referendum for a new high school is passed by voters next month.

The other option would set district spending dependent on a defeat of that referendum.

The district has suggested that a typical family’s tax bill might go up only $8 a year over several years, if the referendum aimed at merging Central and Logan high schools is approved.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. View the agenda here.
