Rollover accident outside Turtle Stack in La Crosse
A car flipped onto its roof and nearly crashed into a parklet outside of Turtle Stack Brewery on Friday evening in downtown La Crosse.
Witnesses said the car lost control, began to fishtail before hitting a parked car and some planters on the side of the street, then flipped over.
Turtle Stack customers sitting outside were able to get out of the way before the car hit the sidewalk. A parklet is a dining area set up in a parking spot on the side of the street.
Two witnesses said they saw a young man climb out of the driver seat window and try to run from the scene.
One witness said he looked no older than 15. They said they rushed over to help the person, but he began to mumble something and then ran away.
The vehicle was full of clothes and other items, with a large amount spilling into the street. Officers were seen picking up a bottle of prescription pills from the trash.
The La Crosse Police Department did not comment on the accident, and told WIZM it would be releasing a statement.

From what I was told and maybe this is something different but this just happened the other day my friend’s car was parked and it was hit there’s a black SUV 4-door it was hit on the passenger back side fender wall. But they were telling me that the guy was taken to the hospital so I don’t know if this is the same story or not cuz it just happened yesterday Friday. These people are low income and are worried about how she’s going to get her car fixed she said that the dude had insurance but she’s wondering if or how or who it’s going to pay for her to get a rental car. She has to work as she only has one car and as I said they are low income. I was just talking to her today and she showed me her car but she said the guy was in the hospital.
