Fritz Leinfelder, who is running for sheriff in La Crosse County, joined La Crosse Talk PM on Wednesday.
La Crosse Talk PM airs weekdays at 5:07 p.m. Listen on the WIZM app, online here, or on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM 106.7 FM (north of Onalaska)
Leinfelder is one of two Republican candidates on the ballot looking to replace the retiring Jeff Wolf.
The primary voting period ends Aug. 9.
We discussed everything from the biggest responsibilities within a sheriff’s office to mental health to Leinfelder’s experiences that he believes will make him a good sheriff.
Did start off the show about how awkward work must be with three La Crosse County Sheriff’s members running for the position, and if there was any sabotage among them. If there was, Leinfelder wouldn’t say.
Marte Peterson is the other GOP candidate in the race (La Crosse Talk PM interview here). John Siegel is also running for sheriff as the only Democratic candidate, therefore isn’t in a primary race.
