Arkansas man arrested for drug overdose death in West Salem

A death last December in West Salem has led to an arrest in Arkansas.

U.S. Marshals have arrested Lathan Foster for reckless homicide, in the New Year’s Eve drug death of Jeremy Pittman in West Salem.

Pittman was found lying in his kitchen when authorities responded to a fire call at his home.

An autopsy determined Pittman died after taking drugs containing fentanyl, apparently provided by Foster, who lives in Arkansas.

Foster is now jailed in Bentonville, Arkansas, awaiting a transfer to La Crosse.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
