La Crosse native Johnny Davis had eight points Wednesday for the Washington Wizards, in a 106-88 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA’s summer league.

Davis started and played 22 minutes, which was second most on the team. The No. 10 overall pick was 3-for-7 from the field, including 2 of 4 from deep. He added four rebounds, two assists and three turnovers.

In three games now, Davis is averaging 8.3 points on 28.6% shooting, which mainly comes from his 1-for-11 performance in his first-ever game.
