Second mural proposed for Main Street parking ramp in La Crosse

Drivers on 3rd Street in La Crosse have seen a mural on the side of one busy parking ramp for four years now. The artwork at 3rd and State is called “Helping Hands.”

Another mural could soon be added to the Main Street ramp. The La Crosse arts board has a proposal from artist Natalie Hinahara to paint large yarrow and blue vervain flowers on the ramp’s 3rd Street entrance.

The estimated cost is just over $6,000. The painting would be completed by Aug. 1.

The arts board could vote Friday on the proposed flower painting at the ramp.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
