A house fire forced two people out of their home on the 800 block of Caledonia Street around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The La Crosse Fire Department got to the scene three minutes after the call came in and found “heavy fire coming from the front of the house,” its news release said.
The department said it had things under control “a short time later.”
The department had 22 firefighters were on the scene. One of the two residents was treated for smoke inhalation and taken by ambulance to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
