Record wise, it may have not been the biggest matchup of the season, but based on who was on the court, the Milwaukee Bucks win at the LA Lakers Tuesday night was huge.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 44 points, missed just three shots (17-for-20) and outdueled both LeBron James and Anthony Davis to a Bucks 131-116 win.

Milwaukee improved to 20-5 with Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday in the starting lineup. They are 19-9 overall at home this season.

The Lakers are now just 10-8 with both James and Davis in the lineup this season. They’re 17-13 at home.

LA’s big trade acquisition this season, Russell Westbrook, scored 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting, to go with 10 assists and four turnovers.

He was taken out with 2:34 left in the third quarter and didn’t play in the fourth while the Lakers made their comeback.

Antetokounmpo added 14 rebounds, eight assists and had no turnovers. The 27-year-old was also 8-for-13 from the line.

Meanwhile, James scored 27 and Davis was held to just 22. The 28-year-old shot well, 80%, but only put up 10 shots to go with nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

The 37-year-old James was 11 of 19 from the field, 3-for-7 from deep, to go with five rebounds, eight assists and four turnovers.

The Bucks jumped to a 24-point lead in the first half, shooting a ridiculous 70%. They led by 30 midway through the third quarter before surviving a late LA rally that got within 10 midway through the fourth.

I am 73 and have followed the NBA since I was a teenager. The Lakers are poorly constructed; they have no bench. Westbrook plays well when the other two have been out and that has been frequent otherwise his stats last night were routine. He never was a great shooter in fact he is an average at best shooter
The win was not huge at all. You are hyping a win for no reason. It would have been showing if the Bucks did not win big.
