Busses could be delayed in La Crosse School District

Could be some delays for students getting bussed to school in La Crosse.

Driver absences with Go Riteway are causing “minor delays” the La Crosse School District said in a letter sent to students’ families.

“Due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic and the increased infections caused by the Omicron variant, we do not know how much longer service will be impacted but are hopeful this disruption will be short-lived,” the letter said.

Parents are being asked to download an app called Here Comes the Bus to check on the status of their children’s bus.

“We deeply regret the disruption this has caused our families,” the district said in the letter. “Go Riteway’s transportation staff will continue to do their very best to serve all routes in a timely fashion even as they face this challenge.”

Twice over the past two weeks, Logan Middle School had to shut down to in-person classes due to staff shortages. The La Crescent/Hokah school system shut down for a week due to staff and students being out.
