It looks as though the wait is over on whether or not U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) is going to seek re-election.

According to a source at WISN, Johnson will be making that announcement in the coming days.

Just before Christmas Johnson said, “This is not an easy decision for me at all. I have a hard time just walking away from this mess, but at the same time a campaign I know is not going to be very pleasant. It’s going to be vicious.”

It’s not surprising news, as no other prominent Republican candidates have announced they’re running. Three have declared: John Berman, Brad Beyer and Deedee Carleton.

On the other side of the aisle, all kinds of Democrats have announced — a dozen, in fact.

One of those candidates, Wisconsin State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski, joined La Crosse Talk PM on Thursday and discussed her opponent, Johnson, and issues facing Wisconsin she would like to take on.
