Free COVID-19 testing sites from the National Guard will continue in La Crosse County for at least another three weeks.

Have questions about COVID-19, the new variant, booster shots, what’s up with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine?
Viterbo immunologist, Dr. Chris Mayne, will be on La Crosse Talk PM on Monday to talk about the virus and answer your questions.
Show begins at 5:07 p.m. Tune in on 92.3 FM / 1410 AM or the WIZM App.

The National Guard notified the county health department of the continued testing late last week.

Here’s when and where the drive-thru sites will happen:

  • Monday: Noon–6 p.m., La Crosse County Health and Human Services building, downtown (map)
  • Jan. 3: Noon–6 p.m., La Crosse County Health and Human Services building, downtown (map)
  • Jan. 8: 11a.m.- 3 p.m., site TBD

Testing usually takes just a minute, as long as there is no line. To get through faster register ahead of time here.

Results from the PCR test will be available in 2-3 days.

For those who wish to get the free vaccine, including a third shot, the county has compiled a list of places to do that here.

Most people 12 and up can get the vaccine. Most 16 and older can get the third “booster” shot. More info on that can be found here.
