La Crosse County avg. 65 COVID-19 cases/day; state puts on vaccinated vs. unvaccinated stats

Some telling stats when it comes to COVID-19 and vaccinations from the state of Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says those who are not vaccinated are:

  • 3 times higher to be diagnosed with COVID-19
  • 11 times higher to be hospitalized
  • 12 times higher to die from virus

The state is averaging 3,740 cases and 26 deaths a day over the past week from COVID-19.

La Crosse County is averaging 65 COVID-19 cases a day over the past reported week.

There were also two more deaths of La Crosse County residents due to the virus. There have been 136 deaths of county residents from the virus — 41 of those since Sept. 1.

Community transmission is “very high,” according to the La Crosse County Health Department.

Wisconsin is averaging 1,658 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 over the past week — 10.4% of those on ventilators and 25.5% (434) in the ICU.

Hospital beds throughout the state are 93.4% in use, while ICU beds are at 95.7%.

As for vaccinations, 57.5% of Wisconsin’s population has completed the series. In La Crosse County, that number is 63.3%.

  • La Crosse: 63.3%
  • Trempealeau: 63.0%
  • Jackson: 46.8%
  • Monroe: 46.3%
  • Vernon: 51.4%

    Instead of percentages I would like to see actual numbers of vaccinated and unvaccinated that needed hospitalization. I would also like to see numbers of people that died vaccinated versus unvaccinated. The actual numbers allow me to more fully draw my own conclusions.
