Independent audit finds Wisconsin’s election safe and secure

The much-anticipated review of Wisconsin’s 2020 presidential election has now been completed. The review by the independent Legislative Audit Bureau was expansive and thorough. They surveyed all 1835 municipal clerks in the state, as well as all 72 county clerks. They analyzed voter registration forms and tested voting machines. No stone was left unturned. The result? Wisconsin’s election was safe and secure, and there is no evidence, none, of widespread voter fraud. The outcome of the election is clear. Yet, a partisan, taxpayer-funded investigation into the same election seeks to find different results. This clumsy, expensive and unnecessary investigation should come to a halt. The Legislative Audit Bureau did make some recommendations for making our elections even safer and restoring confidence in election results. They include things like more training for clerks across the state, as well as clarification on things like special deputies visiting care facilities to assist in ballot collection. The legislature should hold hearings and debates about the recommended changes. But they should do so with the realization that the election was fair and the outcome not in doubt.
