La Crosse Oktoberfest adding new security measures

It could take a little longer to get into the Oktoberfest grounds this year.

Fest is adding new security measures, including metal detectors.

Everyone will need to be screened before entering the fest grounds, and large bags, including backpacks, are not going to be allowed onto the grounds.

Small purses and bags will be allowed, but will be inspected first. Security staff will be looking for weapons, as well as alcohol and other prohibited items.
