The Board of Public Works on Monday morning will take up some parking issues, as well as some construction deadline extensions.

The Board meets at 10 a.m. every Monday to discuss city of La Crosse issues.

One coming up will be to investigate the 700 block of 22nd Street North for two-hour parking. Apparently, there are gaps in that area where two-hour parking is not required.

Also on the agenda, Gerke Excavating, Inc., wants an extension on the completion deadline for the fill project at River Point District, while Market & Johnson would like an extension for a “temporary street privilege permit” for UW-La Crosse utility work in 1800-2000 blocks of Pine Street.

Gerhke has had dump trucks hauling dirt to the property off Copeland Avenue, throughout the spring and summer, to raise the land level as much as five feet to avoid flooding of future buildings there.

In a message to city leaders, Gerke said it will not haul dirt to the site during the four days of Oktoberfest, which begins Thursday.

The board Monday will also look at removing a structure at 2015 Mississippi Street.

The agenda can be found by clicking here. It will take place at the South Side Neighborhood Center and also online (click here).

If you wish to speak on an agenda item, you can do so as part of the virtual meeting. Contact the City Clerk at the email or phone number below and the city will provide the necessary information to join.
