For over 60 years, Art Fair on the Green has brought Art lovers together to support artists.

Saturday’s free event, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Myrick Park in La Crosse will bring over 70 artists with exhibits in various forms — jewelry, fiber art, painting, metal, wood, ceramics, and more.

While the long-time event has continued to grow, for nearly as long as its been running, the fair has supported local scholarships through the American Association of University Women (AAUW).

AAUW uses the funds raised at the event to provide opportunities for higher education to talented and deserving students. It also gives grants to local organizations, who align with their mission of supporting women.

In 2020, $30,000 was awarded.

Classic Hits 94.7’s Sam Strong caught up with Jan Erickson from the AAUW to hear how it all will work. Erickson said the website is live now and through the holidays.

“So if there’s something you forgot to purchase at the art fair, all the artists are there by booth number,” she said. “You can sort by booth number or by the type of art you want to look at. So that’s kind of fun.”
