ABC fundraiser to celebrate all the fests we missed in 2020
Celebrate all your favorite festivals in one day while helping provide services for adults with disabilities.
Our community missed out on almost all of its festivals in 2020.
One local organization is planning to help make up for lost time. Ability Building Community (ABC) works with adults with disabilities in Minnesota. It assists them in finding employment and recreational activities in Caledonia and La Crescent.
Saturday, it’s are hosting the “Best of the Fests” fundraiser at Schmitty’s Time Out Tavern in La Crescent. The event will start at 1 p.m. Local band Jacked Up will be playing live from 2-6 p.m.
Sammie Sherry from ABC Inc. told Classic Hits 94.7 there will be “different activities to go with different festival themes. We will have hammerschlagen for Oktoberfest and then Jacked Up for the band festivals like Rock Fest and Country Fest, etc.”
Attendees are encouraged to dress for the fest they missed the most last year, while enjoying food, music and activities.
They will also have auctions and raffles to help raise money, with the proceeds going to programs and services at ABC.
