The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association celebrated the best work in WI radio and TV at their annual WBA Awards Gala. While it was virtual this year, the awards still demonstrated broadcasters’ commitment to our communities in 2020.

Mid-West Family La Crosse picked up another 15 awards this year over multiple stations and platforms.

Ken Cooper was instrumental in Mid-West Family’s support of local businesses, especially during the holiday season. His amazing “A Christmas Most Sour” won a well deserved 1st place for BEST COMMERCIAL / FM.

Cooper also picked up two awards in the BEST ORIGINAL DIGITAL CONTENT category for his Around River City Podcast: First place for “Students and Coronavirus” and third place for “Lisa vs The Implants.”

The Z93 Morning Buzz with Brittany and Ballzer took home another 5 awards this year:
First place for “Best Pandemic-Related Service to Community” for COVID interview with Kinsey Gibbs, Assistant Nutrition Manager at Northwoods Elementary.
Second place for “Best Significant Community Impact” for Z93’s Season of Giving, and “Best Original Feature” for Fit Fun Fab.
Third place wins for “Best Morning Radio Show” and “Best Coverage of Civil Discourse and Social Change” for the interview with Shaundel Spivey, Co-Founder and President of the local non profit organization, Black Leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge.

Grant Bilse won his first WBA Award this year and it was a big one. Bilse took 1st place in BEST RADIO SHOW / AM for The Wisco Sports Show on WKTY.

These are just a few of the wickedly talented folks we’re honored to work alongside. We couldn’t do any of it without our amazing partners in the community and wonderful listeners like you!
