Steppin’ Out in Pink is entering their 16th year supporting breast care, research, and support programs at Gundersen Health System. Save the date for this year’s event: September 11, 2021.

Early Bird registration kicks off this Monday, April 26th. Tia Sneath spoke with the Z93 Morning Buzz about the plan.

“We’re very excited we’re gonna pull the virtual option for our walk this year and hopefully we can get approval in May to be in-person. So either way, we’re definitely getting out there and walking.”

The virtual option will be September 1 through the 11th, so participants can complete four and a half miles at their own pace. They recommend the four and a half miles since it’s the length of their normal in-person walk.

“There will be a few challenges within those two weeks like, visit this establishment or go take pictures at this place to help people get out there,” Sneath said.

Funds raised at Steppin’ Out In Pink support a full position locally as well as extra support programs, along with the Breast Care Cancer Research Center.

“We give some of the proceeds of Steppin’ Out in Pink to patient support programs, helping out with gas gift cards, medication costs, all of those things that you don’t want to think about when you’re fighting cancer, but are still daily life hassles. We want to take all that pressure away so you can solely focus on your recovery, and what that process looks like.”

Not only do the funds raised at Steppin’ Out In Pink stay local, there’s no administration costs. Every single dollar that you donate and raise goes to the cause directly, it does not support overhead administration.

Early Bird registration kicks off this Monday, April 26th.
