A La Crosse man will be scheduled for trial on gun charges, resulting from a shooting incident on 5th Avenue last month.

Tyrone Johnson is accused of illegally possessing two guns as a convicted felon.

Police found weapons in Johnson’s vehicle shortly after shots were heard at his address in January.  Johnson’s wife also was in the vehicle, along with two young children.

Judge Todd Bjerke says he’s ‘very concerned’ that Johnson had guns in violation of court orders.

Bjerke denied a request to have Johnson’s bond reduced from $2500 cash.   Recently, another county judge lowered bond in the case from $10,000 to the present $2500.

Johnson has 5 open criminal cases in court.
