La Crosse COVID-19 case average rises for third day; Trempealeau, Jackson report virus deaths

Another 45 cases of COVID-19 in La Crosse County.

For the third consecutive day, the daily case average the past week has been higher now than a week ago.

The county is now averaging 44.3 cases a day the past week. Last week that average was 38 a day.

As for vaccinations, 810 county residents were vaccinated Wednesday, and 12,596 in total, according to the state.

The Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative is no longer reporting the number of county residents hospitalized. Instead, its sharing hospitalization data the Western region of the state, which can be found on the DHS site here.

In surrounding counties, Trempealeau and Jackson each reported one death. Trempealeau has had 10 deaths in the past month — five of those occurring exactly a month ago. Jackson has had four deaths in the past month.

    It’s amazing that no one has died of the flu this year , And how many people died of old age only to have it listed as covid 19 ? The hospitals get $170,000 from the federal government for every covid death listed
