Three more COVID-19 deaths of La Crosse County residents reported over the weekend.

It’s the 70th La Crosse death overall — 17th in the past month and 11th in January. Last month, there were 21 deaths, the county’s highest total.

There were also another 62 cases Saturday and 20 Sunday, bringing the daily average over the past week to 39.1. A week ago, that average was 44.

In surrounding counties, Fillmore reported two deaths. The county has now had eight residents die — six in the past two weeks and all eight in the past 26 days.
