A COVID-19 testing site in Monroe County is going back to its original location next week.

The Mayo Clinic testing unit in Sparta returns to the former emergency room canopy at the Sparta hospital on K Street, beginning Tuesday.

COVID testing in Sparta has been done at a different site since early October because of construction.

Before seeking a test at the Sparta facility, patients will have to call the Mayo COVID-19 nurse line (507-293-9525) ahead of time to be screened.

Patients visiting the screening site who receive a test will drive up to sliding doors, and will exit after they are swabbed.
