The Wednesday update from the Coulee COVID-19 Collaborative dashboard still showing all but one metric in the red.

The lone indicator not in red is “care capacity.” It remains in yellow, which means county hospitals are nearing care and testing capacity.

La Crosse County added 122 cases Wednesday, along with six more residents hospitalized — making 158 since Nov. 1 — while Trempealeau County reported another COVID-19 death.

Over the past week, La Crosse is averaging 85.3 cases a day, according to the state. The positivity rate over that span is 30%, according to the dashboard.

There are 18.4 people per 100,000 being admitted into county hospitals daily over the past week, according to the collaborative. That number is up from 17.3 last week but down from the all-time high 27.6 from two weeks ago. The case rate per 100,000 over the past week is 78.3.

Both of those metrics far from being considered “green.”

Of the six “community indicators” from the collaborative, none are close to being out of the red.

In surrounding counties, Trempealeau reported its 21st death — its sixth in three days and 16th since Nov. 2.
