Alternate-side parking begins this weekend in La Crosse

Alternate-side parking begins Sunday morning in La Crosse.

Drivers need to park on the odd side of the street on Saturday night. The alternate side hours are between midnight and 5 a.m.

Last winter, La Crosse police left 18,000 notices on cars for violating the rule, which lasts through March 15.

The first offense during the calendar year is just a warning. After that, tickets will be $15, and the fine goes up after 10 days.

The city brought in $95,000 from those overnight tickets last year.
