STATE TOTALS
Wisconsin: 198,166 cases, 10,332 hospitalizations, 1,778 deaths
Minnesota: 133,802 cases, 9,511 hospitalizations, 2,349 deaths
Iowa: 116,238 cases, 1,635 deaths

Statewide, Wisconsin added another 3,625 cases, while another eight died from the virus and 195 more were hospitalized.

Here’s a quick look at Wisconsin’s rise in cases since reporting over 1,000 cases in a day for the first time July 21. That happened three times in July.

In August, it happened three more times.

On Sept. 10, the state, for the first time, reported back-to-back days over 1,000 cases. But it ended up being four consecutive days (Sept. 10-13).

On Sept. 14, there were 771 cases. Wisconsin hasn’t had less than 1,000 cases in a day since.

Sept. 17 was the first day with over 2,000 cases, which happened for three consecutive days. September had nine days with over 2,000 cases.

Oct. 8 was the first time the state had over 3,000 cases. It’s had over that mark 11 days so far this month.

Oct. 20 was the first day over 4,000 cases, but the state said it was due to a system’s update and a backlog of reporting from that weekend (Oct. 17-18).

In the seven days since that update, however, Wisconsin is now averaging 4,007 cases per day, along with 183 hospitalizations and 27.1 deaths a day.

Meanwhile, Minnesota added 1,684 cases and 21 more died from the virus Sunday. The state is averaging 1,580 cases a day the past week.

Iowa had 1,635 cases, 73 more hospitalizations and one death. The state had a total of 561 people in the hospital Sunday — the most ever. Iowa is averaging 1,272 cases a day the past week.
