The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office reminded all businesses and individuals to examine cash transactions closely after arresting an Onalaska woman on suspicion of passing counterfeit $100 bills.

The sheriff’s office arrested SkyMarie Johnson, 25, on the evening of Oct. 13 after she allegedly passed the counterfeit money in two locations in the Village of Genoa.

Individuals or businesses that are victims or are suspicious of counterfeit cash transactions are asked to contact the local sheriff’s office or police department.
