The School District of La Crosse has postponed bringing students back into the classroom by, at least, one week.

The districts announced it will continue virtual learning through Oct. 11. The original date to bring students back was Oct. 5.

Superintendent, Dr. Aaron Engle all but made that prediction Tuesday evening on La Crosse Talk PM.

A weekly snapshot of the virus showed five positive COVID-19 cases and 21 close contacts in the school district.  The district has had a total of 9 positive cases and 24 close contacts for the school year.

The district stated that secondary metrics of virus conditions indicate the community is not improving, as the main reason for extending virtual learning.
